Occhio, the Munich-based designer lighting company, opened its new, spectacular flagship store in the heart of the state capital on 19 October 2017. The »Occhio store Brienner Quartier« sets a new benchmark in terms of architecture and design on more than 300 m2 and therefore provides a unique lighting and brand experience. Furthermore, Occhio’s high standards with regard to design and product quality are reflected in each and every detail of the new brand world.
Occhio has opened a new stylish flagship store in a prominent location in the Luitpoldblock on the corner of Brienner Straße/Maximiliansplatz in the heart of Munich. The new »Occhio store Brienner Quartier« covers an area of more than 300 m2 and offers an interactive brand experience. The store does more than simply display the unique luminaire systems made by Occhio. It also brings their innovative functions and potential uses to life. »We want to be at the vanguard of lighting culture: The prominent location of the flagship store in the middle of Munich further underlines the strong presence in the city where our headquarters is located, thus sparking people’s interest for Occhio’s innovative products and their respective lighting quality,« said Axel Meise, founder and designer at Occhio. »Given the international visitors to the Brienner quarter, we regard the new store as a kind of shop window for the world.«
The multifunctional showroom concept was realised in collaboration with the renowned architectural office einszu33. The store creates a warm, exciting atmosphere that exists within a distinctive world of products that is presented in a clear, purist manner. The flagship store is spread across two floors. Visitors will be received in a welcoming, luminous atmosphere. »Space stations« present the various luminaire and spotlight ranges, allowing visitors to get to know the products by interacting with them. At the same time, new, welcoming finishes are displayed in a cosy and stylish manner. An absolute highlight is the more than 20 m2 video wall which showcases the Occhio brand world along with current projects relating to lighting culture. A brand wall made of stone and featuring real plants symbolises Occhio’s evolutionary philosophy and rounds off the store’s design concept. In the puristic white »light space» in the basement, visitors can experience the effect of light and light quality in a room and can play around with the settings to create their own lighting atmosphere.
»We are pleased that we have created an additional highlight in the Brienner quarter with our flagship store, where we are able to capture the enthusiasm of connoisseurs interested in high-quality interiors and lighting design and, in turn, direct them to our extraordinary products,« says Uta Lehbach, Manager of the Occhio stores. This was already accomplished the first day: More than 600 excited guests celebrated the opening of the new store together with Occhio and experienced a fascinating mixture of architecture, lighting design and product staging in a lively atmosphere on 19 October. A thrilling video and dance show symbolically brought light to the new flagship store and got guests in the mood for Occhio’s world of products.
The »Occhio store Brienner Quartier« is the company’s third flagship store and represents an important part of Occhio’s new sales strategy. In addition to the more than 300 retail partners throughout Europe, the company will open its own flagship stores in strategically important cities in the years ahead. Furthermore, additional brand stores throughout Europe will be created together with a selective group of retail partners.
